Cars.com established the Lifestyle Awards to recognize which vehicles were best suited for the lifestyle needs of today's car buyers. After an exhaustive analysis, the Honda Civic was named the "Best New Car for First-Time Drivers" for 2008.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has recognized the Honda Civic Sedan as a 2009 "Top Safety Pick." The award was based on several tests, including a frontal-offset crash test, side crash test and rear-impact test. In addition, each winner was required to have electronic stability control available as either standard equipment or as an option. Active safety systems such as stability control can help drivers avoid collisions altogether. Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®), also known as electronic stability control, is standard equipment on the 2009 Honda Civic Sedan EX-L and is optional equipment on other Civic Sedan models. |
